As trends in Kitchen cabinet design change, the black and white palette remains timeless. Having dark or black kitchen cabinets is all about high contrast. Having a warm rustic hardwood floor compliments a high contrast kitchen with black and white countertops and cabinets. When entering a high contrast kitchen, the first thing you will notice is the beautiful highlighting of stainless steel appliances. The safest way to incorporate black kitchen cabinets is to add some warmth with hardwood floors and stone countertops.

As trends come and go, we have come up with some current kitchen cabinet trends to keep an eye on. Currently, white kitchen cabinets seem to be quit popular. However, there is a close runner up.

Black kitchen cabinets

Dark palette options for you kitchen cabinets

Black Kitchen cabinets, whether added during a kitchen renovation to your Halifax home, or already present with the purchase of your Halifax home, never fail to produce a magnetic and dazzling result. When designed correctly, black kitchen cabinets will always look current and appropriate with any home design.

Black kitchen cabinets may require some extra care when it comes to keeping them spotless. Black cabinets tend to reveal more dust, water and stains than any other color of cabinets. This means staying on top of frequent dusting and wiping down of your cabinets, which is generally good practice anyway.

An open kitchen concept for your Halifax Home is a great design for black kitchen cabinets. The kitchen cabinets will tend to appear more like furniture and will blend in with your nearby living spaces nicely. If the thought of black kitchen cabinets sounds too dark, don’t runaway yet! The addition of glass or open shelves can open up black cabinets, with the visibility of dining ware helping to break things up nicely.
